Samsung Galaxy Core Advance Review: Successor of Galaxy Core

Samsung Galaxy Core Advance

The South Korean manufacturer, Samsung, has officially announced a new smartphone named as “Samsung Galaxy Core Advance” extending their line-up after Galaxy Core and Core Plus being released earlier this year. It is a mid- range smartphone aimed at consumers having tight budget. Visually, it is more like Samsung Galaxy S3 and technically more like the Samsung S2 with the addition of physical keys on the front. It will be released in early 2014, when the S5 will be looming in the market.

Hardware of Samsung Galaxy Core Advance:

Samsung Galaxy Core Advance comes with a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, internal storage memory of 8 GB and expandable storage up to 64 GB via micro SD memory cards as in all phones, a 4.7 inch WVGA display with a screen resolution of 800*480 pixels which means it has low pixel density of 198 ppi, a 5 megapixel camera with flash, 0.3 megapixel snapper on front, a 2,000 mAh battery and android 4.2 Jelly bean operating system with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. It does not emerge much in terms of specifications and features, it is just another mid range smartphone from Samsung. It supports Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, WiFi, NFC, GPS and HSPA connectivity but it does not support 4G.

Samsung Galaxy Core Advance comes with a soft touch plastic rear body as last seen on Samsung Galaxy Note 3, unlike the glossy plastic body most commonly found on Samsung smartphones. The soft black coating will not only improve the overall durability but will also deliver greater protection against accidental scratches. The physical keys on front are more like keys found on Samsung Galaxy S4, made probably to allow users to feel each key before pressing it. But unlike its predecessor, which has only one key on the front, the newly announced mid ranger has three front keys. There are dedicated keys for camera, volume, voice recorder, power, menu and home. It measures 133.3*70.5*9.7 mm in size and weighs about 145 gm. It will come in two color versions – Pearl White and Deep Blue. There will be a wide range of accessories for this phone too even from 3rd party companies. Accessories like Samsung Galaxy Core Advance Flip Cover, Cases, screen guard, Stand and much more.
