Samsung Galaxy Y, in which Y defines as the term young. It means Galaxy Y is the younger Android phone of Samsung. It is in the top choice of android users because of its attractive price and lots of features. Samsung itself promotes Galaxy Y as a budget Android device.

Interface:

Samsung Galaxy Y runs on Android OS, v2.3.5 (Gingerbread) and the user can upgrade on the go.  It is powered with 830 MHz ARMv6. It provides a GPS facility with A-GPS support and a java application can be run via Java MIDP emulator.

Camera:

There is only one 2 MP camera with resolution of 1600×1200 pixels. If you use to have video calls then you will got a problem: secondary camera is not available. The capacity of the camera for video shooting is just 15fps.

Battery and speed:

The standard 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery is used by Samsung for Galaxy Y which has stand up time of 540 hours on 3G and 850 hours on 2G. This smart phone gives you the talk time up to 6 hours and 20 minutes on 3G and 17 hour on 2G.

Design:

Due to its design it is easy to use and carry. For the ease of the user to navigate the pages there are dedicated home, back and option keys. If you are a volume rocker then you will be happy because there are buttons on the left side of the phone which lets you to increase or decrease the volume according to your mood. On the right side, there is a power button and on the top of the phone a USB port and a 3.5 mm audio jack are situated.

Samsung Galaxy Y comes primarily comes with an internal memory of 160 MB. By using microSD, microSDHC cards the internal memory can be expended up to 32 GB.

The resolution of the screen is very poor and the size is also too small while the contrast ratio of this smart phone is 625:1. If you are a regular video caller then this phone is not for you. But, according to Samsung it is a budget Android device and will allows its customer to keep the phone updated on the go. So it will be perfect choice for those who want to use Smart phone on budget price.
