How to Play PS2 Games on PC?

Here we are going to answer the most frequently as question by the gamers that whether we can play PS2 games on PC? And the answer is YES. It is very easy to play PS2 games on PC. There is no doubt that you must be aware of what a PS2 is. It is an awesome gaming machine launched by Sony using which we can enjoy High Definition games sitting at our homes on our TV. But not all of us have PS2, instead most of us own a PC. So we are going to tell you how to play PS2 games on your PC. All you require is a PS2 Emulator and its bios files to play PS2 games on PC. Steps to play PS2 games on PC are:

Step 1

The first thing that you will require is a PS2 Emulator known as “PCSX2”. You can download the emulator from its official website. The emulator is present totally free for various platforms like Linux, Windows and Mac etc.

Step 2

After the installer of the emulator is downloaded, run it and you will see a screen as shown below.  You have to click and check the box of “Direct X Web Setup” as it will be updating the direct X installed in your system to the latest version and which will aid the program to run fluently.

Step 3

After you have completed the installation process, you will need the BIOS files to run the emulator. The BIOS files can be downloaded from the link-http://www.4shared.com/rar/c8yzoTjK/pcsx2_100__bios__plugins.html. BIOS are actually a set of instructions that controls the output and input operations of the emulator.

Now after downloading the BIOS files you need to cut them and paste the files in the “BIOS” folder inside the “PCSX2” folder.

After that start the program from the installed PCSX 2 folder. Now you need to configure the emulator before you play PS2 games on PC. At first the program is going to ask you about the BIOS directory and you have to give the path where you have saved all the BIOS files. Then in the configuration screen you need to select the region shown in the dropdown menu. You can also change the BIOS settings as well as region depending upon your choice and requirement of the games.

Then next thing that you need to configure is the Video Plug-in. The default plug-in of the emulator is ZeroGS KOSMOS. When you start the emulator, a window similar to command prompt appears where you can select the video BIOS file. You need to restart the program then and in the output screen you have to check whether “Detected SSE2” is stated or not under the Feature heading. If not, you need to choose the “no SSE2” plug-in.

You can also change other features like toggling full screen, size of the screen, anti- analyzing and other settings by clicking on the configure button that is available in the drop down menu.

Now when we talk about configuration of the controller, “LilyPad” is the one which is the best. LilyPad is the most adjustable controller plug-in available. With the help of this plug-in you can make use of keyboard as well as mouse as an input device. You just have to select configure besides the controller option, then select either “Pad1” or “Pad2” and then just configure different buttons with various keys of your keyboard or mouse according to your own convenience as shown in the image given below.

Step 7

After that you need to close the emulator and start it again to play PS2 games on your PC. You will see a window as it is shown below.

Now the emulator is ready to play PS2 games on PC. To run a PS2 games on PC you must have an ISO image of the game stored on your computer. All you need to do then is to click on the “CDVD” option and then select the “BOOTCDDVD” option. It will ask you the path of the ISO game file. Browse the game image file and click on Open, and you will be able to play PS2 games on PC.

As you have seen that the process is very simple as well as easy so as to play PS2 games on PC. So now you do not need to buy PS2 or its expensive game DVD’s to enjoy those games, you can enjoy the totally free and play PS2 games on PC.
