Nokia has been slowly and steadily gaining ground at the top-end of the market with its flagship Lumia 920 smartphone. However, the company has been losing its market share in the mid-range segment to Android smartphones from Samsung. So, the company has decided to launch the Nokia Lumia 620, a pocket-friendly and affordable Windows Phone 8 smartphone. Let’s look at the specifications of this phone in brief.

Design:

The Nokia Lumia 620 has the dimensions of 115.4 x 61.1 x 11 mm and is built from plastic. It has a compact, pocket-friendly design that offers comfortably handling and portability. It weighs in at 127 grams and has curved corners which makes it easy to slip into pockets. Furthermore, you get a wide range of color options like Lime Green, Cyan, White, Black, Yellow, Magenta and Orange to match your personality.

Display:

Nokia Lumia 620 lands with a 3.8-inch display which has a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. It supports multi-touch and has a pixel density of 246 pixels per inch. Nokia has added its ClearBlack technology to the display which results in perfect outdoor viewing experience.

Connectivity:

The handset supports 2G and 3G networks, and offers a range of connectivity options. For internet access, you can utilize Class B GPRS, Class B EDGE, HSDPA, HSUPA or dual-band Wi-Fi. For communicating with other devices there is Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, NFC (Near Field Communication) and microUSB v2.0.

Camera:

Nokia Lumia 620 offers a 5-megapixel camera with a single-LED flash. You can use to take high resolution images of up to 2592 X 1936 pixels and shoot 720p videos @ 30 fps. Some of the additional features include auto focus, geo-tagging, night mode, Smart Shoot, multiple resolutions and scenes. Users can also edit photos and videos directly on the phone itself through the photo/video editor app. There is an additional secondary camera at the front which can be used for VGA video recording and calls.

Internal Hardware:

Nokia Lumia 620 is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. There is a separate Adreno 305 GPU for handling graphics. Internal memory stands at 8 GB with an option of using microSD card to extend the storage capabilities further by up to 64 GB. In addition, Microsoft provides a free SkyDrive 7 GB Cloud storage account.

Software:

The phone comes pre-loaded with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system which has been appreciated by smartphone users for its smooth and slick user interface. Users get a Live Tiles home screen which provides users realtime updates from news sites, social networking sites and apps. These tiles double up as shortcuts to apps as well so you’ll be able to launch apps with a single tap. Nokia has also added a range of social networking apps like Facebook and Twitter which are integrated into the operating system to keep you connected with your friends seamlessly.

Battery:

The phone has a removable Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery which provides a stand-by time of up to 13 days, talk time of up to 10 hours and music play of up to 61 hours.
